Self Portrait: Rage

Midterm project for Figure Observed class. Self-portrait with the juxtaposition of my love of Japanese folklore and my hate towards my irritability when tired.
The kanji on the sword is for rage or to run wild. The Oni mask descending and taking over has been seen as a monster that goes on wild rampages. The spider lilies in hanakotoba (Flower language) mean abandonment, and in this case, abandoning control.

A soldier pushed to the brink, abandoning control of their emotions, giving in to rage, the calm before the storm, the demon they become
